This comfortable 3 bedroom home has a fantastic beach for swimming and paddling as it drops off quickly, making it easy to use whether it is high or low tide. Leave half the group at home, enjoying a peaceful moment to read on the deck, while the active folk head over to Fairwinds Golf Course.
Spacious Interior!
This large, west coast cedar home has high ceilings, bamboo & tile floors, spacious bedrooms, a long sun deck, and huge communal area with a sunken living room, a cosy nesting-corner, leather couches and a fireplace. It is excellent space for a ladies get-away, 2 families traveling together, or a group of golfers or kayakers.
Layout of Rooms
The oceanside portion of the house is the communal area, with a central bathroom off to the side. The bedrooms and remaining bathrooms are all at the back of the house, creating a quiet side of the home for those who like to sleep in. The bedroom closest to the communal area has a small windo that looks out to the kitchen area, and has a Queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with a large soaker tub. The back two bedrooms are both very light and have french doors which open onto the side sun deck which faces Southwest and receives wonderful afternoon sunshine. Both rooms are very large, and the opening doors add even more to this feeling of spaciousness. The middle room has a King bed, and the back room houses 2 doubles.
Entertaining & Cooking
Food preparation and dining is part of a good holiday, and this kitchen is set-up for success! The open-concept kitchen has a granite-topped island with a sink and 3 barstools for part of the group to use for cooking while others have lots of room on the kitchen-side. Two dining tables seat a total of 8 guests for a fun dinner party!
Minimal Stairs
The floor plan is almost a bungalow, with the exception of the 4 steps down into the living room, and 4 steps up to the bedroom area, and 4 steps down from the parking area. However, the exterior staircase leading down to the beach is quite long.
Nanoose Bay Services
Kayak rentals, a boat ramp, the Dockside cafe, and resterant are all located in the nearby harbour. The golf course has another resterant, with a cool deck overlooking the greens, and the local plaza has many shops, including a grocery store, video rental, post office, pharmacy & bank.
Central to the Hub of Vancouver Island
This oceanside neighbourhood has a community of its own, yet is only 15 minutes from downtown Nanaimo - but miles away in atmosphere from the city! It is a central “springboard” location to access a wide variety of activities in this area of Vancouver Island, including splunking at Hornby Caves, a daytrip to Lasqueti Island, a shopping trip to Coombs with a stop at Englishman Falls, or a trip for freshwater swimming at Spider Lake. One week won’t be enough time for everything!
