Campbell River Hiking

As the gateway to North Vancouver Island, Campbell River is an ideal springboard for hiking in all directions. Alpine hiking from Mount Washington is wonderful in summer & fall, and easy access as the paved road takes you to the base of the ski hill where a network of well-mapped day hikes weave you through alpine lakes. Strathcona Park, Canada’s oldest provincial park, hosts some wonderful dayhikes along valley bottoms or to the mountain peaks for stunning views. Snowden Demostration Forest and Elk Valley Falls are just north of downtown for half-day ventures.
